I saw a podiatrist yesterday and she prescribed orthotics for pronation, bunions and hypermobility. When I asked her whether I would need stability shoes, she said that the orthotics would deal with the support issue and a neutral shoe would probably work best.
The best bet is to go to a specialist running shop that does gait analysis and knows about orthotics as well. They should be able to advise.
For me, finding the right running shoe is a challenge so I always prefer to buy shoes after consulting Foot Solutions podiatrist rather than wasting my money on wrong shoes which will eventually cause foot problems. Here's the link to Foot Solutions site: footsolutions.com/store/ann... I hope they help you more than they helped me!
