For August anyway. I actually find it inconceivable that, barring serious injury, I could ever now type those words and mean it. But I'm done for August. I've run a lot (15 runs) and covered a lot of ground (109K) at a pretty brisk pace (5.7 mins/km on average). And now we're off on hols, on Friday. Mrs OldNed is muttering something about packing but I don't see the problem - I've packed my running shoes, my C25K t-shirt & a pair of shorts. What's the problem?

So my next run, and I'm really looking forward to this, is 10K round the seawall of Stanley Park, Vancouver. Yay!! I've been promising myself this since I started running. We're going up into the Rockies too and, bears willing, I'm planning a couple of shortish runs there, just to keep the legs moving. If I see a bear, I can tell you the legs will certainly be moving!! Keep on running, everyone. Enjoy

Hey be careful they may mistake you for Forest Gump at the distances you are accumulating ! Very impressive and enjoy the holiday, bears permitting.

Thank you.

Hey, Old Ned, Welcome to Canada!

We've laid on a beautiful forecast for your first days in Vancouver: highs 21 C and sunny. You'll enjoy every step around the Seawall. Do watch out for cycling and roller blade only lanes to keep us collision-free on the pathways -- those wheeled folks are only allowed to travel counterclockwise on the Seawall, whereas you can go either direction by foot. Do stop to enjoy the view of ocean and mountains. If you are in town for a little longer, head out anywhere on the entire waterfront for great running; always a few runners trotting along to show you the route. And we are a friendly lot, so don't be shy. I'll look for you when I'm out and about. Enjoy great hiking in the Rockies, where the weather also looks to cooperate. Have a super holiday.

Thanks OhCanada. I've been looking at the weather forecasts for Vancouver; it does look good. I see the nights are beginning to get a bit 'crisp' in the Rockies. Should be fun. If you see someone in a fluorescent yellowish C25K t-shirt that may well be me!

Well done OldNed thats a wonderful total for August and fast too. Now then a question for you and MrsNed . . . . . . "Take me, take me"? I love Vancouver and Canada, Stanley Park was beautiful when we were there which was second half of August 5 years ago, long before my running days I have to say. I am green with envy, have a wonderful time, are you going across to Victoria? We hope to go back in another couple of years. Enjoy :)

Thanks Oldgirl. I've been before but Mrs ON hasn't so it'll be good to see it through her eyes too. We won't have time for Victoria I'm afraid. Nor, sadly, can we squeeze you into a suitcase!

Happy holidays Ned! When I saw you'd run 109,000 miles I nearly fainted. Amaze balls. Keep us updated with your Canadian runs (the exercise ones NOT the "Delhi Belly ones)......

Wow, that's an amazing total for the month and a fantastic pace too! Your holiday sounds great, especially as you already have some running planned in while you're there. A friend has 2 daughters in Vancouver and went there last month and the photos look amazing. Hope you have a great trip and that Mrs OldNed enjoys her first visit there.

Have a safe flight - don't get tempted to run up and down the aisle of the plane to fit in a few more Ks before the end of the month!

151.08k outside, 28.63k on the treadmill (yipppeeeee!) But I work in a school, it's the summer hols so I've had free rein over where and how long I run; back to work on Tuesday, will put a big dent in my running.

Total including walking, running and cycling is 395.56k. We're off out for a Bowls do this afternoon but the question is do I take the dog out this evening for a 4.44k walk or do I slap myself silly for being fixated on these numbers?!?!?!?
