Running partners? Do people have non C25K runners as running partners?

I'm trying to find ways to stop myself getting bored as I know that will make me want to stop running/doing this and I'm quite far into it, wanted to invite my boyfriend or friend along with me, what do people think?

Hi Bird, I run alone, but if I was looking for a running partner I'd want someone with roughly the same level of fitness, or a least someone who could run at the same pace. I sometimes run with my husband, who also runs regularly but is not a C25K runner, but he is much faster than I am. He very graciously runs slower so that we can run together, but I always feel like I am holding him back and end up feeling guilty because he doesn't get as much out of our runs as I do. But maybe that's just me because he doesn't seem to mind that much.

Have you thought about podcasts? Several people on here use them and they say they are wonderfully distracting.

I am also contemplating running with my dog, which could be fun, although she is a far superior athlete! Just need to get the right gear first so that I don't have to hold her leash in my hand.

It's best of all if you're roughly matched in ability as Be11adonna says. I think it's a great idea to buddy up with someone, I only recently started running with my son and it's much more fun to have company.

Thanks, I think the people I'm thinking of will be ok ability wise. I already listen to the podcasts which really help me focus, not sure if I could use it with a partner though!!

I run with my husband and/or kids for the runs that I'm 'worried' about. They're all good runners and don't necessarily run alongside me as they know I like to listen to Laura. During the longer run sequences though, my son or daughter (11 and 14) slows down, runs with me and encourages me when I look as if I'm flagging. "Keep going," "Good job," etc. I must say, I've found it really helpful and they know if I've asked them to come it's because I feel like I need their support.
