RIP Sophie the Cat

I was due to go for my run this morning but had the horrendous misfortune to have to take our beloved cat to the vets for a final goodbye. She'd got ill all of a sudden and to cut a long story short, there was no option but to let her go. I will miss her indifference to my run stories, her "feed me you swine" meeows just as I got back from a run, her long luxurious snoozes that I was never successful in trying to prompt a reactionary squeak from her whilst telling her about how well I was doing on the C25K prog.

She was laid to rest in our garden where she can carry on doing what she was expert at for 99% of her spoiled life - sleeping.

I will get back in the saddle again tomorrow morning and run along with good thoughts of Sophie in my head. I'll miss her hugely.

Aaaahhhh Dan I'm really sorry you have lost Sophie even though she was never that impressed with your running achievements, deep down she probably knew she could do better (see my post today). Pets are precious and its always hard when they leave, I'm sure you will miss her sorely.

Oh poor you Danzargo! I'm sorry you've had such a sad event. Pets are such an important part of family life and you will miss her. It's a hard decision to make but sometimes necessary for the sake of the pet.

Hopefully the running will help you and if you can hold those happy memories as you do it , so much the better.

I hope you can begin to feel better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Dan. I enjoyed reading about her indifference. It's really hard to have to take our beloved pets to the vet but it's the last thing we can do for them I hope you can run with good memories of her and get to the point when you smile whenever you think of her x

Thoughts are with you today Dan, I've had pets over the years - one of which was also my beloved Sophie. Allow yourself to mourn for her and walk or run yourself through these times. Once the initial pain lessens, all the best moments of her long life will stay with you and make you smile always. RIP Sophie, sleep peacefully xxx
