Week 5 run 3 to come...

I found this forum last week and this is my first post. I have just come back from running week 5 run 2. I managed to complete it, but was really struggling in the last two minutes with stitch, and general fatigue! Should I repeat this run, or carry on to run 3? I am daunted by the thought of running for 20mins, but really want to achieve it. Thanks in advance for responding.

Go for it! The key is in your phrase "I managed to complete it". It's awful to get stitch but if it happens again, try to relax your stomach muscles as you breathe and slow the pace down a bit until you recover. It's all about pacing in week 5 run 3 so start off slow and steady and see how you go. Build stamina first and worry about speed later.

The worst thing that could happen is that you won't be able to complete run 3 and if that happens (which it most likely won't!) you may then choose to repeat week 5 run 2 anyway, so I think it makes sense to give run 3 a go. If you go to the "browse by category" column on the right hand side of this page and click on week 5, you should find lots of posts from others who are / have been in your position and can offer advice and support.

Good luck and let us know how you get on! :)
