and to 'speed' podcast...

It was good, I stopped on the last interval for a break as the humidity was getting too much. So glad I took water, it helped, didn't feel sick and enjoyed running fast. It's the first time someone has moved their dog out the way, quite funny as the dog was sitting down and the guy pulled him quickly by his collar! Really made me feel like a runner :)

So once it cools down maybe I won't need a break. I can't decide yet which of the three podcasts I like yet will have to keep trying them.

Oh for the first time I chucked water over my head out of the bottle on the walk back, felt gggrrrrreeeeeaaaatttttt!!!!!!!

Noticed my left leg after months of being stiff seems to be settling down and there's no pain, yippee!!

Happy days

:D

I always loved the Speed podcast so I'm really pleased you liked it too. Will try and fit it into a run this week myself. There's a road up to the park near where I live that was closed to traffic years ago and recently they have painted it with running lanes, will give it a go using Speed, its where I always used to do my HIIT running before Speed was brought out. You've got me all excited now :)

Hi Oldgirl, glad I've inspired you! Running lanes? Now that sounds professional, wonder if it makes you feel even more of a real runner!?

Have fun,

Susie

I did speed for the first time yesterday, and although managed to force myself to keep going on the speed, had to have a very brief walk during the slower section, it was however a relief to end the 6th repetition. Glad to hear similar reaction from someone else.

I tried Stepping stones, just after graduated and failed miserably and have just been running to Laura's week 9 run for the last 3 weeks, but perhaps now will give it another go

Very well done, runningwild! The poor dog, sitting comfortably around (probably having a mental fight with it's owner (who is more stubborn and stuff like that...) and then it had to jump away because there was a running flash approaching. I hope it won't be too grumpy ;-)

@c4ts: I just read that you also managed speed podcast (the walking in the slower section is ok for doing it for the first time, I think). As you I also failed completely on stepping stones (tried it twice: 1st: became somehow very slow and covered only about 2.7k when I was usually doing 4.4k in the same time and on the second try I simply gave up after 7,5 minutes (which was then the first time ever I didn't complete a run).

Would you think speed is easier than stepping stones? Until now I didn't dare to try another of the c25k+ podcasts... too afraid I might fail again. Ok, then there are two more reasons: the heat (running on my normal pace is already hard enough, giving some extra effort... no way or I'll collapse) and my broken mp3-player (no player = no podcast).

I'm determined to give them another go when its a bit cooler. But I fear that after these fails I had, I have a very high mental obstacle to beat...

Hi nomoresloth, thank you, the dog was a pug and didn't look impressed! I'm not sure about stepping stones, need to give it another go. Although speed will be fine when I'm not overheating! Like you say it is again a mental challenge...

Good luck, keep us posted.

:)

I loooove the speed podcast although I still haven't managed it all the way through. But I will prevail! Haven't tried Stepping Stones or Stamina yet but I think it's about time...
