I'm beginning to lose patience with MapMyRun. I've had doubts about it's accuracy for some time, since it developed a habit of recording my runs as having gone straight through the boating lake in my local park. Doh! Then this morning it blithely told me, apropos the BlackBerry it has been working happily on for the last 18 months, "this device does not support GPS capability". So wotcha been doin' these last 18 months, stoopid programme??? Huh???? I'll delete and reinstall but if that doesn't work I'm off to something else. Grrr!

Very frustrating!

I use Runkeeper - might be worth a try?

I dont find it very accurate either, so much so that I think its a waste of time. I run off road a lot and it cant deal with it.

Thanks both; glad it's not just me!

Nope, it's not just you. I also didn't get on with it. It stopped logging my runs midway through. I thought it was a GPS problem on my phone, but I switched to Endomondo and have had no more problems.

Yes, I wondered about the phone but have switched to endomondo now and it found the GPS OK, albeit a bit slowly first time.

Yup - have been with Endomondo too and wouldn't look back. I did a side by side comparison with a Garmin watch and they are within 10 mtr of each other and looking on the maps I'm managing to keep my feet dry when running along the canal towpath so fairly accurate too.

Good-oh; I'm looking forward to getting to know Lady Endomondo!

she's soooo monotonous though you might need to run through the boating lake just to keep awake!

Definitely not just you,I tried map my run but found it to be pants. I now use runkeeper which seems to be working well so far.

I thought of using runkeeper but BlackBerry doesn't appear to support it so I've switched to Endomondo.

I'm using Map my Run (I sometimes forget and call it Run Keeper though :P) I found it was terrible on my old iPhone 3GS, it told me once that I had run 8 miles, on week 4 haha. But it's fantastic on my new model Android. Perhaps a software update has changed the way it works on your phone? I want to save for a watch instead though, it takes such a long time to start the app and put the phone away.

Yep, that (software update) is possible. A watch would be lovely but I may have to sneak that in surreptitiously!!

Watches aren't a panacea, they can also be slow to lock on and go astray.
