I was coming home from shopping and sitting on a bus at a busy junction. We had just passed a couple jogging up the road, its a long steady climb for about 500m so they were probably feeling their legs tiring by now. They got to the junction and the guy sprinted across it narrowly missed being knocked down, then the female did the same. Car horns were heard blasting them, she missed being hit my a whisker I would say. They carried on up the hill, but before a minute had passed the female runner doubled over, either in pain or shock or just plain out of breath. I don't know which but I would have thought that having come all the way up a steep'ish hill in the hot sunshine (yes thats right hot sunshine in Aberdeen) then cranking up her speed to a sprint PLUS her heart rate must have leaped 20 beats or more from the shock of being nearly run over. Was it worth? In my opinion a most definate NO, I would far sooner jog on the spot or do some stretching and wait for the green man. So don't be a stupid jogger, please be a safe sensible one.
