I felt really good during this run and felt it was my best yet, but I now feel slightly disheartened as Runkeeper didn't track it. I have sorted the problem now and just hope I feel a good on my next run! Still smoking though and need some serious encouragement to stop.
First run of week 7 - Felt great: I felt really... - Couch to 5K

STOP SMOKING! Helpful? Or not? Ok, not to undermine all the hard work you're doing because doing the programme is 100 times better than not doing the programme (so well done!) but your cardiovascular system would be healthier if you did no exercise, but didn't smoke. Scary eh? I think smokers take a fair bit of bashing and you probably know all the arguments which is why you want to quit so I won't say anymore but quitting would be the best thing you've ever done for your body, your health and your fitness. Have you looked into the NHS stop smoking initiatives? I think they have groups and things if you needed that bit of support?
Good luck and keep going! X
speaking as a an ex smoker you gotta want to do it, if you find you do my best advice is go to see your gp and they set you up with the right materials to give you the best chance of suceeding think of it like c25k for your lungs! either way good luck with the running
I smoke as well but I truly feel like I need to be 100% ready before I can quit and I'm just not there yet. I know I'll get there one day and so will you! I know that running would be much easier to do if I didn't smoke though but I find I can only focus on one thing at a time and right now my focus is entirely on weight loss/fitness. Good luck to you on your journey to become smoke free.
