After completing week 5 I thought week 6 run 1 would be a doddle although I completed it it was hard work. I had left 2 rest days in between week 5 and week 6 do you think this may have contributed to the way I felt?
W6R1 - Found this really hard!: After completing... - Couch to 5K
W6R1 - Found this really hard!
NO! I remember blogging about this run when I ran it. You have this massive sense of achievement completing week 5.3 and your brain says "I can do anything!". This is what happened to me. I attacked week 6.1 and found it soooo hard.
But the great thing about this program is that it works. Stick with it cos your next run will be easier. So with your third and by that time, you'll be into constant running chunks of the program.
Don't despair! The cunning C25K folks have designed this to work and it DOES!
I know exactly what you mean. This was what I felt too. It would seem that this is a very common experience amongst the C25Kers. A lot of folk comment comment that week 6 is difficult but by week 7 they are back in the groove again. Keep going. Happy running, Gillx
I'm glad it's not just me - I went on my W6R1 this morning and found it REALLY tough. Legs ached like crazy, the last 5 minutes seemed to go on forever, much worse than W5R3. Everyone keeps saying that the design of the programme works really well and I have to say it has done so far, I can only hope that the next runs will be easier for us both.
No I remember this CLEARLY. I think we get a bit cocky. I found ALL of wk6 difficult, but did it. Good luck.
