Just back from the woods. This time I did the reverse circuit of the one I did on Sunday with the missus, well almost. I took a wrong turn again so it was a little bit different but not much .
The main difference was the 120 metre mega steep hill, it was a lot more difficult going up it rather than down! I thought my calves were going to burst! I did slow to a walk at the top 20 metres or so, but I was going pretty slow anyway so can live with that! . After that it was much more pleasant with a general undulating descent back to the car for the last 10 mins or so.
I covered 4.1k this time out in the 28 mins and if you add the warm-up cool down walks it was 4.91k so I am well chuffed with that.
So my big plan is to carry on with the rest of week 8 and the first half of week 9 at the woods, up and down them big hills and do my local Park Run as my graduation attempt a week on Saturday.
My thinking is... as the Park Run is flat I should find it easier and have a chance of getting somewhere near the half hour mark, or at least in the thirties. I have however had many theories crash and burn before today!
I am really starting to enjoy my running now
Happy running peeps!
Kev.
