I'm back! Week 9 run 2 practice.

I wasn't really supposed to start running again until the weekend as it isn't yet 2 weeks since I came out of hospital. I was so missing running though that I thought I'd just have a practice to see how I am. Notpheidippides ran his usual 7 times round the park - I didn't count mine. I ran only a little faster than my 98 year old mother goes when whe walks with her wheelie! But I ran for 30 minutes :-) I know various of you suggested going back to earlier podcasts and doing intervals but I felt I'd be demoralised by that. And actually I think that would have required more effort than just seeing how far I could still run using the week 9 podcast. So I'm both pleased (that I ran for 30) and disappointed (that I've lost so much "speed!" and fitness. I'll see how Friday or Saturday goes and decide whether I think it's good enough (in my mind) to qualify as W9 R2.

Welcome back lycronotlikely.

I would count that run!!

30 mins is 30 mins and that's all Laura asks of us. If I had to wait for 5k I'd still be waiting.

I ran for 40 mins today and still didn't quite get there!

No, I want to make as good a job of graduating as I had intended on W9 R1. I sha'n't do R3 until I feel stronger and can give it my best.

Well done! I'm glad you are well enough to run again :).

Because of a holiday followed by a cold I stopped running for 2 weeks and was considering going back to earlier podcasts, but you have motivated to just try my week 6 run 3!

I'm sure the speed will come back to you, it is still a great achievement to have managed a 30 minute run after the break.
