What are your favorite quotes & what keeps you motivated.

Just thought I would ask what keeps you all motivated

For me it's the thought that if I carried on the way I was, then in another 10 years I would probably ended up on medication - and I'm determined that will not happen.

Favorite quotes, the most apt ones to sum up my last 2 months.

"If you are going through hell right now, just keep on going" - Winston Churchill

and appropriately from Nelson Mandela "It always seems impossible until it's done"

My friend and I used to meet up regularly to walk and we'd often go out for 30/40 mins doing a regular route, chatting too much and hardly breaking a sweat. One day I said to her "i'm going to run this route before the end of the year" so here I am a few months later trying to make that happen! I also have an extra motivation which is my holiday in 12 weeks time where i'll be required to wear a bikini - that helps alot! :)

My motivation for doing this programme was to finally do something for myself, in between juggling children, their activities, work and homelife. I really needed to do something.

My inspiration I guess comes from everyone on this site. Perhaps corny but nevertheless true. Reading their battles that have been overcome has been the best inspiration and spurs me onwards.

I've been struggling a bit this week and coming back to reading the blogs has reminded me that I'm in this supportive community. :) and to get going!

Happy running!

2 quotes that I used and I have now done the 5k:-

Quote 1 - have patience it will come....

Quote 2 - better to be at the back then on the couch!

The quote that helps me and is very pertinent to me is "your legs are not giving out, your head is giving in" because my best runs are the runs where I don't over think it. But I also like the one about even if you're slow you're still running laps around everyone on the couch! :)

I'm now 57 and obese, but have been lucky enough so far that my body has broken down in any major way yet. A bout of sciatica a few months ago gave me a taste of just how horrible it would be to lose my mobility and have to live with limitations for the rest of my life, plus I am currently seeing my sister-in-law deteriorate with COPD. I am lucky enough to still have a choice about what direction I steer my life in - if I carry on how I am then that choice may well be taken away by chronic health problems.

So my motivation is to have a better and healthier lifestyle and not allow myself to be limited by bad health, and reading the blogs on this site!
