W7R1 "raced" a cyclist...

... OK, so maybe "raced" is a bit of an exaggeration. I was about 3/4 of the way through my run last night when a fairly old man on a fairly old bike pulled out onto the road about 8m ahead of me. As we were going up a (reasonably gentle) hill at this point, he was a good pacemaker for me as he wobbled away in front of me. Surprisingly, I wasn't feeling too bad at this point and almost managed to catch up with him! Then there was a slightly downhill bit and he managed to increase his speed a bit and pull well ahead of me before turning off. Was his pride keeping him going?! He did keep glancing round especially just before that last concerted effort of his! Anyway, any sense of achievement I felt at managing to almost keep up with him was soon dampened when a "proper" sporty cyclist whizzed by less than a minute later. All a good distraction though - and according to endomondo that was my fastest km that I've run to date!!
