Well,
this is my first blog post. It was my middle run of the week today, my fourth run over 30 minutes as I did 32 minutes at the end of Week 5 and 34.5 minutes in Week 6 but I've been tired the last week and a half - not sure why and it isn't doing because I'm doing more - at least I don't think so as I've been running extra since Week 2 and within my capability.
The last few runs I've been using a course I've measured at 2.7 miles. I thought I wasn't going to be able to run it this time. The worst part for me is between 5-10 minutes (although I felt bad after 2 minutes today!) but once I get to half-way, psychologically it's such a boost! Anyway, I finished it with a lot of effort and only about 15-20s slower than last time so although I'm disappointed my speed hasn't improved this time - rather it's dipped slightly - at least I finished it without stopping!
I hope to do better next time, maybe get my time down to 32 minutes. I'm aiming to do the full 5K in 30 minutes by the end of Week 9 - OK, it might be too much but I'd rather aim for something beyond what I can do, it's that competitive feeling!
