Wondering if I ditched Laura too soon...

Hello! I am a complete newbie to this forum, but I have been keeping an eye on it ever since I started C25K and you all seem like a super friendly bunch :) I will be running W7R2 very shortly and with the weeks whizzing by, I'm questioning whether I ditched Laura too early on. I couldn't stand the music after week 2 and so I've been using RunKeeper to track my intervals according to the C25K plan. Apart from missing her little motivational talks, will I have missed any other helpful info over the weeks from not listening to the podcasts? I am totally new to running but seem to be doing OK! Just wondered if there was anything about technique that I could be missing :)

There are some bits of advice, but there is info on technique on the website too. If you're enjoying the plan with your own music I'd say stick with that, and good luck with the rest of the runs.

As silly as it sounds, whilst I am listening to what Laura is saying, and that it is info that may be helpful, I don't think I could say that there was something she said that suddenly made me realise there was something that I'd been missing before her telling me, I'd been using the podcasts for each run up to W5R3, for some reason I'd either forgotten to load it whist setting up, or had managed to delete it somehow, as one's before and after where there :s

I ended up running it to my own music and found I didn't miss Laura's voice at all, or the music! Went back to podcasts for W6R1 and found that didn't seem to enjoy it as much seemed more like hard work! So I'm actually thinking of working out my own playlists for the appropriate runs/breaks for the next one to see if it makes any difference instead of Laura in the background or whether was a one off. If you find something that is working for you, then best thing would be to stay with what you're comfortable with.

Enjoy the rest of your runs

I would say try to go back to Laura, the music is not the best, but you do get to keep with the sessions and know how you are doing. You only have a couple of weeks left and then you can listen to your own playlists.

At the end of the day, the choice is yours. Hope you find a way that suits you :-)
