Well tonight has been a shock. As you will see from my recent blogs, I've been struggling with my runs (time off for kids illness and being busy, coping with the heat) and I've just not been enjoying them.
Tonight I thought would be the same case of get through it with gritted teeth but it wasn't. My sister suggested a different route which really helped shake off the boredom and the weather was cold and windy - just how I like it for running!
I decided to slow my pace down a bit as think I've been going a bit too fast ( finally listening to you Greenlegs!) and I found it really comfortable. I set my runkeeper timer to go after 30 minutes. I had a audio cue when I hit 4k which was about 26minutes so knew I only had a short while left.
After a while I thought "this feels like longer than 4 minutes" and when I looked it was over 32 minutes! I looked at the distance and it was 4.87k - well how could I stop there?!? So I carried on and hit the 5k. I was elated and really enjoyed my run tonight. I even felt like I could have run longer.
Thanks to everyone for your encouraging comments to keep going - I've got my mojo back

Brilliant Kel but how you ran in this wind is beyond me; it's blowin' a gale out there Unless it was behind you of course!! A new route can really make a difference to a run! Great time for a 5k and well on course now for your graduation!!
Thanks Sue - I love the wind. It helps to cool down my beetroot face!! Doing a run in July with my work colleagues. Am praying for cool weather as dreading them seeing my hot weather post-run face!
Yeehaa!! She's back! Well done Kel. So pleased for you, particularly that you've rediscovered your mojo. I like a bit of a breeze to keep me cool too. Looking at your picture, I have just vowed to myself that I'm finally going to go and upgrade my knackered old useless dinosaur iphone to one that I can actually use apps on. Onwards to graduation now. It feels great, believe me. Tati xxx
