I've been trying to use mapmyrun but it doesn't seem to recognise fields or footpaths, does anyone know if this is possible to do on this site or am I just doing it the wrong way?

Are you just using the website or taking your phone with GPS and 3G and tracking it as you run.

I am able to track the fields and footpaths a just using the website as long as I untick

follow auto follow roads once a start to create you route,

also Click satellite view on the map so you can see your fields/footpaths clearly.

I can see football pitches i ran around much clear using the satelitte view.

good luck with this

I am just using the website to plan a route, I'm a bit behind the times I'm afraid and have an old 'brick' phone which isn't up to the job! Thanks for your help, I'll give it another go x

I use goodrunguide and I know that there is a footpath option on the their route measurer and you can use the route measure without signing up.

Hope this is helpful.
