A Day of Dithering...

Today I dithered... I dithered re whether to do a park run or not (didn’t in the end)I ran a ‘hard’ 30 5kms earlier this week and did it in 29.23 minutes. Lots of hills and a bit on track too so off road which always slows me, but I really didn’t enjoy it so felt little inclination to get down to the park to do it... maybe another time.

Then I dithered re running for an hour (which I had intended to do as its the weekend, and hadn’t done park run) but after a rather strenuous horse ride this am, and then a walk round town (brought some new Capri leggings from sports direct) I wasn’t feeling the love and promptly went to sleep on the sofa while the hubbie hovered up...

However, I woke up renewed, and decided to go for a steady enjoyable 30 min run, so wearing new trousers I set off. The wind felt a tad chilly round my newly exposed ankles, but run was lovely and didn’t push myself too hard. (In fact I took my heart rate with a phone app (so prob v unreliable!) as I ran, and it was only at 80! (Usually reads 40-50 at rest)) I was running at 9.6-9.8km an hour so not super slow, just felt good today, maybe it was the chocolate tiffen from Costa coffee in town...;-)

Decided I should maybe push self tiny bit harder so once I have ran 5km (30.40 mins) I went bit quicker for the last 5 minutes and heart jumped to 130 beats... but still fairly slow really!

I find it strange how going just 1 minutes slower over 5km makes such a difference to my perceived level of effort... maybe just more hilly on other route.

I did notice with my new trousers how often I kick myself with my swingy gimpy leg (not quite how the gait analysis person put it but you get the idea!)

Day off running tomorrow (competing horse instead so 6am set off – yawn!) Will aim for an hour run on Monday instead maybe.... unless I dither myself out of it!
