Have put Christmas Eve (long run) but will be running Christmas Day too (short run).

You make a good point. I have amended it to multiple choice.

Don't you mean Xmas 2015?? Not 2016 !!

Hahahaha I've got a fuzzled Christmas brain this morning. On the plus side I've already made a black forest trifle and brandy chicken liver pate. Thanks for putting me right it's appreciated.

OldNed profile image

No worries, but I'll have some of the pate please ;)

Looking at this on mobile and can't see any sort of multiple choice option- just empty original post. Anyway, I will be running on Christmas Day... Along the coast to the next town (5k) if I can get someone to come and pick me and the dog up!

Could only vote for one, so I voted for Christmas Day, because I always run on Christmas morning and New Year's Day :) Having said that, as you know I'm a fair weather runner, so we'll have to see!

Happy running all, whenever and wherever you run :)

Christmas Eve early morning for me, but might get a late one on Boxing Day too (have just voted for Christmas Eve at mo).

Boxing Day Park Run- it will be my 3rd park run after completing couch 25K!

It will have to be the 26th. 60+ mph wind tomorrow, Friday looks perfect but out visiting, Saturday only 40mph wind. Merry Christmas all.

Well today I've managed to do my back in....Not even doing anything exciting/strenuous or anything...I bent down to take my boots off!

After a spell doubled up, followed by a lie down on a hard floor, I can move again - just. This could be a quandary if I have presents to test on Christmas Day and need to go for a run.

Hoping a nights sleep does it good.

Oh no. I hope it's just one of those short things and you've woken up feeling better. healing thoughts being sent from me. X.

To be honest I think I would struggle to run on Boxing Day if I have a good Christmas Day. On that basis I ran today, will run Christmas morning, recover Boxing Day and venture out again on 27th. Just being realistic knowing my willpower!

Sorry but can someone please tell

Me what a virtual run is?

It's a bit of fun to keep us moving through the holidays. Here is the link that explains it.

My run in the bag, just before the weather got a bit interesting up there. Well, I say a 'run' but I managed to get somewhat lost as the wet weather and forestry has changed a familiar place so it was more of a wade through bogs calf deep and climbing over fallen trees at times. Didn't dare stay out much over 30 minutes (shopping delivery imminent) so did that and the wee bit extra to make a tidy 3k.

Just did my Xmas Eve run, 4K. Will try to get out again on Boxing day! :-)

Been out this morning 5km In the bag. Enjoyed it so much want to go out tomorrow but not sure there is any time. I might fit in a speed walk if I can.

Squeezed a 30 min run in this morning before the housework. Never run in my fleece before found it tough but it was super windy and raining. A pat on the back for me....

Merry xmas everyone.

I could only vote once I have done my Christmas Eve 5k, planning at least a short one tomorrow to test out my new toy Father Christmas is bringing me, and doing Boxing Day Park run, all weather permitting don't mind rain in fact as long as I have warmed up I love the rain ! but hate really strong wind and there is no point going if I am going to hate every minute ;)

Slipped in a 10K today (Christmas Eve) and planning to play parkrun tourist on Boxing Day. Last year I managed to get out Christmas evening before everyone had surfaced, but I think that will be out of the question this year.

AdamB profile image
AdamBGraduate in reply to AdamB

In the end I've been out all 3 days. On Christmas Eve I did a 10K at tempo pace. Christmas Day was a slow early morning 5K jog and on Boxing Day I've been to parkrun.

Was out this morning (Christmas Day) - trying to make room for all those mince pies!

Well, I did my Christmas Eve Run yesterday. I use a modified Wk 5 Run 2, total distance was 4K. Not the best time, but it will get better. I will be running later today with the same modified run.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Graduated this morning. Feeling great. If I could work out how to do it I'd attach a photo of Ella and me on our return home. Had a glass or two of fizz to celebrate. Happy Christmas and enjoy your boxing day runs. Thanks for everyone's support. Love Jill x

Well done Jill. I'm glad you've completed the series and isn't it nice to have a little celebration in the knowledge you've earned it. Hope Santa brought you what you wanted. All the best.

xmas morning - 5k done. Then mince pies for br.eakfast

OldWheezer profile image
OldWheezer in reply to ancientrunner

That's the way to do it. There's no expectations at Christmas, if you want to eat mince pies, chocolate cake or anything else at 9 in the morning you can do it without anyone commenting. That's what I like about. Christmas. Not that I would do that you understand 😳.

Between you and me - it was mince pies and chocolate!!

5k completed on Christmas Eve. I had planned a run today on the 26th, but my bones are tired. I believe I'll take today off! Merry Christmas, everyone!

I did 4K on Christmas Eve, and have done 5k today.

I voted for xmas eve but I'm afraid a combination of badly chosen shoes rubbing my heels raw (whilst out last minute shopping) & that damned muscle in my neck/shoulder going again put paid to that. Was hoping to try & get out today but may need to take a rain check if the weather doesn't improve any............

Boxing Day run complete :)

It was supposed to be a slow trot enjoying what nature has to offer but my absent mind unfortunately ill timed it to coincide with the local Boxing Day Hunt meet that gathers on the country estate bordering the village I live in. The roads were car parks, the pedestrian paths were full and the footpaths were muddy and busy! I spent my time politely excusing myself and nipping about trying to find a clear run.

Why anyone would choose to do that on Boxing Day morning is beyond me!

Anyways, 8k in a surprising 48.55 and a life experience that will remind me to choose my timing better in future ....................

I did park run on Boxing Day. Very very windy and very slow progress on the 2nd half of the run when the wind was on my face. Good yo get out though.
