I have had to use a different C25K app as it was freezing all the time, couldn't get past first day. Other one going well so far.
lots of newcomers great to see the word is spreading
I'm using a different app too but starting week 3 today - all good so far.
It's a great program, if the newcomers enjoy it as much as me they will be very happy.
I achieved my goal last year BUT, I can now no longer run because I have damaged my knees .... by achieving this goal! I don't wish to deter anyone from running - it's great - but please be aware of the possible negative effects it can bring
It's a fantastic Podcast for everybody. I'm that pleased I've been spreading the word. My stats are 64yrs on Feb 18th, 14st and 5K in 32mins and 10 secs. Thank you Laura.
The cold was thing that took my breath away today!
Just did week 6 run 2 yesterday. Hope it's going well for everybody
Currently laid up through illness. Hoping to resume again soon and am likely to be back to week 1 after so long out
Thinking of restarting would be my exact choice. Began around now last year, in a really hugely manic phase. Struggled a lot, took about 6 weeks to reach week 3, then let many things: physical (a really minor owie), mental (the manic phase, as always, ended, and eventually depression) and practical (moved house) get in my way.
At the moment, just trying to ensure I walk daily is my goal.
I did the same thing last June, work was manic, I wasn't in the right frame of mind and also suffer from depression. It's taken me from then to keep restarting, every time at a later stage until eventually I graduated this week. You can do it and you will do it, just don't feel you have to do it to the 9 week time scale, good luck
Thanks KK. You know what its like. So frustrating, not being able to get out there. I look at my poor wee shoes and they are begging me to take them out for a spin .
I have been contemplating a gym visit (with facilities close by) to do some treadmill work just to get moving again. I might just do that this week.
Hope you are feeling good.
Thanks KK. I think there is a small chink of light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it gets a bit bigger quickly
the sense of achievement after each run keeps you going to the next
This morning I finished Week 2 Day 2. 53 now (how the hell did THAT happen?) 6'4 and 18stone. I haven't run anywhere since my navy days and that was over 20 years ago.
I'm going to be restarting the program once I get the MRI and EEG done and then hopefully the ok from the neurologist, she gave me the ok to carry on football but forgot to ask about doing the c25k programme next time I will definitely ask though
Hi, I'm on week 3, doing run 2 tomorrow. I joined late January. I'm 35, 5'4" and 12 st2 (lost 2lb so far through watching my diet alongside doing couch to 5k, aiming to lose 1-2 stone overall). The app and this forum are an absolute revelation. Love the semi-anonymity combined with continuous friendly support and being part of a community of like-minded people going through the same thing.
I'm on week 7.
Week 7 day 2. I'm from the USA 5'10" 260 lbs. Just trying to get healthy
Ive just walked thru the door.... from week5 run3!!!!!!
I just did run 2 week 2.
I'm really unfit - it took me 3.5 weeks to complete week 1 and I'm in my second week of week 2 but am intending on having a go at week 3 on Monday.
I'm 47, 5'6" and 15st 1lb. Have lost 13 lb since beginning of January through WW but finding the weight loss is slowing now I'm exercising so am going to concentrate on inches though will stick with WW for now as it makes me think about what I'm shoving in my gob!
i'm looking to start this week with the 1st week of running am 31, weighing in at 18st 13lb and height 5'8''
I am hoping to lose some weight and trim down for a family's wedding day but in general be a healthier mummy.
Do any of you Runners have Young children, I.e how do you plan go about doing your runs ?
I've got the famous W5R3 coming up on Saturday - looking forward to it so far but a bit worried I'll keel over, quite pleased I've timed it so I don't have to go to work afterwards!
I can access this on the laptop but now need to download the app and see how I get on. I am deaf so cannot hear the music anyway, so I will follow the plan and see how I get on....
This programme has been a life changer for me both Mentally and physically. What I have achieved through this programme has led me to rethink everything. Trust in yourself, the programme and the posse on this forum and anything is possible!!
