I have had mild copd for almost 2 yrs. I had a CT scan done and it said mild Emphysema with scattered Fibrosis in both lungs. My medical Dr. Said when I aaked him about it to get another scan in a yr. Isnt Fibrosis bad? I told my Dr im gping to see a Pulmomary Dr and he said All I have Copd and he wont do anymore than he does but am welcome to. He didnt comment on the fibrosis again when I brought it up. Anyone else dealt with this? Made an appt with Pulmomary Dr.

Nice to see your taking charge of your medical issues. Yes go see a pulmo doctor. There are good and not so good doctors in both fields but wouldn't you rather have more of an explanation? And ask the pulmo dr to explain everything to you. It can work both ways - one time my Primary care doc said I had the crackling in my lungs she could hear thru her stethoscope which meant I had fibrosis but my pulmo doc had already done the low dose cat scan and it did not show that at all. On the other hand my very first pulmo doc wore after shave - dropped him fast cause if you don't know what heavy after shave and perfumes and smells do to someone with COPD then you don't need to be my pulmo!

I saw him today. He wants an at home sleep study and a new pft test. Hope it better than the last one amd not worse. I smoked then.Thinks may be asthma too. He said scattered Fibrosis is not a lung disease. Made me feel alittle better. Changed my Anoro to Resprimat 2 puffs twice a day. Hope it helps. I dont like strong smells either, make my chest raw.
