H Blonda57, I also have copd, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and lupus. What are you scared about? Just exercise daily as much as you can, this makes the lungs stronger, drink lots of water this thins out the mucus.

What meds are you on? Are you in oxygen also?

Hi Blonda57, I am 73 and was diagnosed 3 years ago. All types of things (mostly negative) ran through my head when I was told. What helped me greatly was learning about the disease, condition, symptoms and ways to minimize the impact on my everyday living. I got a pulmonologist and asked a lot of questions about why I was experiencing things I had not before. I changed from my first specialist because their answers were very vague. I agree with LORBIC about exercising, see if you can get in a Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. Although this is one of those "easier said than done" things, don't let fear and worry direct your actions and reactions. I have had good days and bad days, by keeping focused on the good days made the bad days not so bad. Hang in there and "Keep the Faith". Peace.
