hi there it maybe moving to fast for you ! but believe me it’s better than waiting months, this happened to me in February this year from bowel screening, I then had a colonoscopy booked within a week, the colonoscopy is uncomfortable but it get the best results, if you read my story on here you’ll see why it’s important, try not to worry about it.

CT virtual colonoscopy was easier prep for me than optic colonoscopy. So i preferred the CT. In the end they had to take biopsies so only the colonoscopy can do that whearas CT cannot. CT has a look at other stuff too, eg, Liver, pancreas, etc.....good luck.

I also have several autoimmune diseases and it does wear you down when it’s one thing after another. Because my Drs are useless I’ve been waiting 2 years for an MRI so in your shoes I would be grateful things are moving quickly.

I’m not convinced about CT colonoscopies as quite often a full colonoscopy is needed as well so I’d rather just go for that in the first place but equally you may be able to avoid that if the docs are happy with the CT.

Good luck anyway and fingers x it’s something simple to fix.

Hi Tinytash76,

Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you're having to deal with all this autoimmune disease stuff. You have definitely been through a lot already. You have received some good advice here. The CT colonoscopy has its benefits but the only problem is if something needs to be biopsied to get tested then you'll have to have a regular colonoscopy performed later. The colonoscopy is the gold standard for finding out any issues that are going on. My surveillance involves an annual colonoscopy and an annual CT scan so we hope to catch anything early if it's there.

We do issue the very best and hope your CT colonoscopy gives you all the answers that you're looking for. A positive fit test can be caused by many different things. We hope it'll get you on the path to getting well very soon. Please let us know what you find out from your tests. Is that type of information that can be helpful to others on this site.

Thank you,

~Tom, GCCA Survivor - Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.
