I had blood when going to the loo about 2 weeks ago then last night alot more blood with clots im really worried

Have you contacted your doctor?

There are many reasons for blood in the stool, some are very treatable with medication, diet change, and minor procedures, and of course, there are more serious reasons for blood in the stool as well. For that reason, we always advise patients to seek medical care when they have blood in the stool.

Has this ever happened to you in the past, and if so, did you see a doctor for it / get it treated?

When you experience blood in the stool, the doctor will often perform a DRE (digital rectal exam) where they will both look and feel with their gloved fingers, to see if an any anal fissure (tears in the anus), hemorrhoids, or something else that could be causing the bleeding. Depending on the DRE results, any symptoms you are experiencing, and age, your doctor will determine if further tests need to be performed.

If you do not have a gastroenterologist, please start with your primary care doctor. Due to COVID they may wish to do a phone or video consult first.

Im having 3 blood tests and stool samples done on Thursday. The doc couldnt rule out cancer im so scared i feel sick with worry

Bobby67i - I know that this is causing you a lot of anxiety. I'm so grateful that you are getting blood tests and the stool sample done on Thursday - thankfully that is just a few days away.

Please try to distract yourself and be kind to yourself during these days while you are waiting to get tests performed, as well as while you wait for the results. It is very nerve-wracking - we are here for you.

Hi blood tests were find i did 2 stool tests one had blood in the other didnt ive been referredto hspital but cause of covid it will be weeks im s scared

Relax abit and go to the hospital that you are referred and get more tests

Can you still see blood whenever you poop now, does it comes with mucus?

The consultant just rang and said becase i had been fast tracked i will get a colonoscopy appoibtment within three weeks. My anxiety is worse now ive only had rectal bleeding twice could it be serious?

I don't think so but I'm glad you're getting it checked out. Please keep us updated. Stressing won't change anything, just ebb and flow. Whatever will come, will come. You'll be able to handle it.
