This relates to Leukaemia in children, but an interesting development none the less.

Yes Talesin this is very interesting and exciting and is exciting the clinicians. I am hoping there is more from this year's ASH?

This is a video interview with professor John Gribben from last year;s ASH discussing this therapy and the results from it's trial in a few CLL patients. there were a few adjustments that they were hoping to design into the treatment as fail safes to turn off the treatment and make it CLL cell specific.

Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CAR) From ASH 2011 ,Has anyone information that summarises the latest developments with this particular therapy discussed this year??

Thanks Chris great article.

Here's a link to an interesting video broadcast explaining ROR1, this outlines what is being developed and investigated scientific stuff but it is presented in an understandable manner (if you are interested in this kind of thing). I imagine this work may have progressed a little further, any news yet Chris?

Hello Fiona;

Congratulations on being diagnosed so very early.

Mine was low at 31.

There are many knowledgeable people here. People having lived with CLL for decades.

Treatments have good success rates and there are some amazing new treatments not far away from being generally available.

I have had CLL for at least three years and I have no symptoms.

I cannot promise everything will be fine, but your chances are very good and significant improvements are being made right now.

Follow the links in the replies, see what is happening

There are brave people here, it's surprisingly infectious.

The first thing you must decide is how much do you want to know. Especially while still coming to terms with your feelings. Take it from there. Ask questions but make people understand what you are open to hearing. See how things go. There's no rush. :-)
