Yesterday I received my test results but had no idea what the number meant. My daughter and I did some research and it looks like 250. 0 in one study is some kind of a normal benchmark. I predict the LLS Study will be running additional tests in the future to see if there is a drop in the antibody amount over time. For me an important understanding is that the antibodies are what teach our B & T cells to recognize invaders for future attacks. I know this is a simplistic understanding of the process, but it helps me understand that the number isn’t the tell all as others have said because our immune systems are so complex. So, I look at the vaccine as providing a group of teachers for my cells, with no guarantee the students will learn, just hoping they do! Stay Safe!

28.11 for me and 250 for my wife, both positive but a significant difference. Tests were taken two months after our second Pfizer jab.

Four weeks after my second Pfizer shot, my spike protein antibody level was > 250. I have been “ watch and wait” since dx in 2009. I hope the LLS study does retest at four snd dux months to see if we retain our original level of protection.

They would give them the best info and would also pick up people that are developing anti’s later. There seems to be no known time for developing them from what I read yesterday so some people at 0 or lower numbers may actually still be in process. CBS morning yesterday ran a piece on a Doctor that had had a transplant and he was a 0 because of the meds he takes and when they did a 3rd shot it finally boosted him enough to start making them. I will see if I can find that video and will post.

Mine was >250, 3 weeks after second Moderna shot. I have been on Ibrutinib for 16 months.

On Ibrutinib for 2 years. Had gazyva for 6 months when I started treatment. I had no antibodies to the Moderna vaccine per the LLS test through Labcorp in early May. 2nd vaccine was at end of Feb.

I’m hoping that my T-cells will give me some protection. Was deflated by my results. I work in healthcare and was hoping to get back to some semblance of normalcy at my job

Mako,

If everyone around you is vaccinated and you have access to the antibody infusion, that helps.

Remember, ventilation is key so if you’re cooped up inside, you’re at risk.

I provide anesthesia in an operating room. Haven’t taken call since all of this started as most covid patients end up getting intubated after hours. Even with a papr I’m not wanting to take that risk. I do still work and provide anesthesia for patients that are tested within 24 hours of surgery. All of my family members are vaccinated, coworkers are another story though.

Have you heard anything about a 3rd shot (creating a boost)? Thank you for your service in healthcare!

Mako625 profile image
Mako625 in reply to Txkate

I have not. I spoke with my specialist and there are no recommendations for a 3rd shot. I will, however get whatever booster is offered this fall.

Thank you all for sharing your results. This is a really hot topic in the news right now as so many states are un-masking. There was a celebratory feeling after the vaccines and again after the CDC change, BUT in their celebration (which I get) they forgot there are still quite a few people waiting on the bus that can’t get off at this stop! The hardest part is when others, that you know personally, refuse to vaccinate to also help protect others. I think this needs to be promoted more, just as wearing a mask protects not only the wearer but also those with compromised immune systems. It is not a political issue, but a caring humane issue. We have to be better by doing better by each other.

I’ve had 2 LLS tests. First (in late March) was with less sensitive test (max >250) and my spike antibodies measured >250. Today I got results of second more sensitive test (max >2500) and I measured 276. I was hoping for something closer to the >2500, but you get what you get. At least I have a decent response to vaccine as far as antibodies. But docs still say they don’t know what it means. Someday they will. But who knows when.

First lls labcorp results were >250 in March. Just got my second lls labcorp results and I’m thrilled to report the result was >2500. Found out last night a new grandchild is on the way so the good news keeps coming. Very relieved and grateful.
