I have a claim and there will be a settlement. No real hard proof is necessary. You do need to show medical treatment, in my case ibrutinib. I also had a secondary bladder cancer developed. The payouts are not that big, so no one is getting rich. The average is probably 25k.

Hi. You say no real hard proof is necessary, how come we don’t have to prove purchases. I have used Roundup but no record of purchases. I’m glad for you if you get a settlement.

I have used Round up for thirty years and that is not the weak type you buy in garden centres but agricultural strength where one gallon will spray fifty acres. I was contacted by an American and asked if I wanted to join in the claim but I heard no more. I am no longer using Round up as it is now very expensive but use Rosate as it has the same ingredients and less than half the price. I have been on Ibrutinib for the past eleven years. My recent blood tests, taken a week ago show normal with a white count of five haemoglobin of one sixty and neutrophils of two point nine but my platelets remain low at one hundred which I understand is a normal symptom of the drug as is Atrial Fibrillationjumping from sixty to one hundred occasionally but treated with blood thinners.

Ibrutinib has only been on the market since 2014-2015.

I started my trial in 2010 at Kings College Hospital, the second in the country to be offered Ibrutinib at which time it was not on the market.

It looks from your profile you started treatment in Sept 2013– I’m wondering if your autocorrect may have changed your years on ibrutinib from seven to “eleven”.

(My autocorrect is always creating new and exciting words for me… 🙂)

Its a setting where the computer automatically corrects what you type, changing it into what the computer thinks you meant to type. Sometimes the computer is correct, sometimes it is not. So you have to review what you write, because words can get changed.

I am familiar with this system but was not aware of the correct terminology. It is both useful and annoying as sometimes you type something you ant to write but it keeps altering it so you have to think of other words or word that give the same meaning.

When typing on a computer or tapping on a phone, the program completes or changes a word, updates spelling, etc.

Your comment states you’ve been on ibrutinib eleven years, but your profile indicates you began treatment in 2013. I was both interested and encouraged by a longer treatment time on ibrutinib.

I have read my profile, yes diagnosed in 2006,but I was on w&w for four years. I will check,it out but September is correct.

I thought the time to file a claim had passed. I don't understand why RoundUp is still on the market if it is known to cause cancer??

"Known to cause cancer" is too black and white. Tobacco products are still on the market. There are many substances, including processed meats with a known associated higher risk of developing cancer. It's about appropriate awareness through warnings.
