New to CLL

Hi I was diagnosed with CLL in mid May and am coming to terms with the situation and all kinds of symptoms.....real or imagined! I have a meeting with my consultant coming up and am trying to get to grips with the language of CLL so as to engage in a meaningful way with the health professionals. I just wanted to say that this site gives me hope and some of the tools I am looking for to play an active part in managing my health going forward. Thank you.

It can be overwhelming but hopefully after you see your hematologist, you will put it all aside and be in W&W a long time.

I was on W&W 12 years before I needed treatment. 💕

Welcome Happygarden and I agree that this site is amazing especially, at the time of being overwhelmed by the diagnosis.

My head was spinning and the fear was paralyzing, my brain couldn’t comprehend it all. Then, while googling about CLL/SLL I found this site and I was very impressed and Thankful ( still am) for all the help and educational posts by administrators and volunteers here.

Any question or problem you have will be answered to the fullest and with compassion and understanding by people on this site. That was and is my experience

and if you have any specific questions before your appointment and post them, and collective brain power here is ready to help.

It helps to write down the symptoms you are having so that when you see the doctor that you can ask about them. You go through so many emotions in your mind during this time that it is overwhelming. Praying that your appointment goes well and the treatment plan that is lined out for you will give you some peace. We are all here for you❤️!

Hi

I was diagnosed with cll in June. Its quite a daunting thing to get your head around. I've read quite a lot of posts on here but my head just spins with so much info.

I just want to try and come to terms with having cll for now. I think it will take sometime to understand all the ups and downs of the blood results and I don't need to become an expert right now.

I am on the watch and wait for with a review with the hospital every 3 months.

yes head spinning just about sums it up....leukaemia is such a powerful word, it certainly made me anxious
