Bloodwork on imbruvica

Hi all!!

Just got my bloodwork back

My WBC WAS 230,000

On imbruvica for three months

My WBC IS 21,000

Lymphocytes were 51,000 now 20,000 in one month...

Beside the side affects imbruvica is truly a miracle pill!!

I am so happy 😀

It’s great that you are doing so well. Congratulations and we are pleased for you.

But there’s something about your numbers that don’t make sense. We’re you looking at percentages rather than absolute? If you had a count of 230,000 before treatment I’d have expected your lymphocytes to be well over 200,000 ie to make. Up some 95% or more of the total. Occasionally miscounting does happen. But for example when I was treated my white rcount was a relatively low (but fast growing) 100,000 and 95,000 of them were lymphocytes.

Anyway it might be worth checking the numbers but just looking at that WBC drop is great news for you.

It really is good. Ibrutinib seems to be a remarkably good drug at putting the breaks on CLL and putting it into reverse.

Your results are very encouraging. I’m 6 or 7 weeks behind you in treatment with Ibrutinib with similar starting wbc and just this week saw my numbers budge a little toward improvement after the initial increases in wbc and alc. You give me something to look forward to. Thank you for sharing.
