Australians have your say in getting CLL medicines approved

Hi everyone, I am just reaching out to Aussies on this site to let you know that the following 2 treatments are being considered in March for public funding in Australia. If you would like to make a carer or patient submission about how important the availability of these therapies are for all eligible patients in Australia please add your voice and experiences via this link - PBAC online submission form

www1.health.gov.au/internet...

The 2 therapies are:

1. Venetoclax in combination with obinutuzumab for the first-line treatment of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) who have coexisting conditions and are unsuitable for fludarabine based chemotherapy

2. Acalabrutinib for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory CLL or SLL considered unsuitable for treatment with a purine analogue. (chemotherapy)

If you have had access to either of these therapies or would benefit from access please consider making a submission by COB tomorrow - 12th of February. This is our chance to help decision makers bring the right treatments to the right patient at the right time.

Thank you

Done, as a trial patient on Acalabrutinib, Obinutuzumab and Venetoclax.

Thanks for the alert!

Good luck wishes from across the Tasman for those options to be approved.

We have had a free Venetoclax plus Rituximab combo approved by our drug buying agency since last year but not Acalabrutinib, and free Ibrutinib directly from manufacturer only for a certain number of cases.

I have just sent in my submission. Definitely worthwhile for us mere mortals to add our say too
