I have been on 420mg Imbrutinib for a little over a year and have just started having swelling and pain in right hand and wrist. I have also noticed swelling in legs at the end of the day. I know the leg swelling is probably ok because I am on my feet all day at work, but the hand and wrist swelling and pain is new.
I had considered myself lucky, as far as side effects go, but just didn't know if it was common for side effects to show up a year later.
If you do a lot of typing or other repetitive motions it could be carpal tunnel syndrome maybe unrelated to the CLL. It could be arthritis, possibly rheumatoid. It could be due to trauma. Have you injured it? I would see a great hand orthopedic doctor and get an X-ray and possible other radiology studies and labs.
You can get bone pain when under treatment for CLL but seems odd in that location. But others may chime in who know more.
Try a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory Med that does not harm platelets until you see doctor.

Arthralgia is linked to Ibrutinib and it causes the excruciating pain heat and swelling of a broken bone. It's very painful and i ended up in a cast when it happened to me.

I’m nearly a year in on I&V and have developed severe joint and muscle pain including arthralgia which as Anne says, feels like a fracture at times.
However I did have pre-existing arthritis.
Some of my fingers have swollen 4 ring sizes.
Consult with your doctor to eliminate other possible causes but do not take any anti inflammatories in the meantime. My doctors have been emphatic that I can’t have any anti inflammatories whilst on Ibrutinib.
