Deleting ‘Notifications’

Sorry to be a pain but can someone please tell me how to get rid of the long list of Notifications I have accumulated. I can’t see an Edit button and I’ve tried a swiping.

If I don’t reduce this list I’ll never ‘like’ another post!😂😂

I just turned off notifications. And each time I open the app it tells me to turn them on again and I say NO WAY

You can go to the "Settings" under your profile picture (avatar). You will see email notifications. You can un-tick specific boxes.

You can't switch off the in-site notifications in the bell symbol unfortunately.

I don’t mind the email notifications- I can delete them it’s the in-site notifications I want to erase. That has to be something the developers can rectify- those messages must use considerable memory!

Perhaps if you unsubscribe and then rejoin? That might be a nuisance for our Administrators though.

Here is the reply from the App Support. All it does is reiterate what I said, no solution and, by the sounds of no likelihood of one either

:

Hi there Camper2,

Thank you for your email.

Sadly you can not delete your messages in your notifications section. I am very sorry if this is causing you distress in anyway.

You can however alter how many notifications you receive. This can be changed in your settings tab by ticking and unticking the options under 'From my account'.

Very sorry for the undesired outcome.

All the best,

Hema

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear that you have no work around. I wouldn't worry about the memory usage - it's minor compared to post images and post text and replies for that matter. Admins don't use the app by the way because it doesn't include the admin tools plus it's not available on Android :( .
