Who has 6q deletion?

My FISH analysis indicated both a 13q and a 6q deletion. While 13q is a favorable prognosis indication, the 6q is listed as an "intermediate" prognosis. Unfortunately I can find very little literature that supports this finding on 6q deletions. The few reports I have read were using fairly small sample sets and that does not give me a lot of confidence in their findings.

What is the prevailing science on 6q deletions and where is the supporting analysis?

  • 6q is a tiny percent in CLL patients, about 3% as I recall. The last paper I read said it conferred a good prognosis...

Depends on the number of cells as well, in most cases they would likely call you 13q deleted.
