I have blepheritis and my doc said to wash 2x day w/ Johnsons baby wash/shampoo and to take fish oil or flaxseed oil 2x day. I have no problem now at all.
Hope this helps people out there. I wish more docs would embrace the supplements. It would make life easier.

Glad it's helping you james. My optician recommended the remedies you mention. Unfortunately I have an inflammatory eye condition that I need to use prescribed eye drops for many times a day. I have a severe eye condition. (I see the link mentions eating oily fish too.)

You have my sympathy Newdawn, inflamation of my eyes was the main symptom at the start of my eye injury ... my eyes are still a weak spot.
For anyone who doesn't understand how painful it can be, just think, no matter how big or how strong you may be, a tiny speck of dust in your eye will stop your world in an instant ...
.. now imagine a perceived handful of dirt in your eye ... that is inflamation !
Mrs ygtgo is now a 'dab hand' administering eye creams/ointments and drops.

blepheritis is not nice ... I hope that it clears up soon SQ.
I received the same information from my ophthalmologist about a year and a half ago and I've had no problems since. I take the flaxseed oil and use Johnsons baby shampoo near the lash line. Before this treatment, I had blepheritis often.

I use Dove soap for mine. works very well. Eat fish. I tired the supplements but they changed nothing so I stopped. The cleaning was the key.
My eye specialist prefers Aveno Baby shampoo - don't know why. She also compresses with warm water. I quit the Fish Oil because of other issues it can present, but have not had problems with the blepharitis recently - just dry eye, for which I get plugs in the lower tear ducts and use lots of drops - restasis and preservative free saline. I didn't think much of the dry eye until I was told about the effects it can have on vision.
