Is it safe to take Pelargonium for a cold when on W&W?

I understand echinacea is not safe to take with Cll blood condition.

Thanks for any advice. Mary

Yes, I also need to know about Echinacea, I've just started to take it but will stop if it's contraindicated.

Sorry, I don't know anything about pelargonium, but I used to take echinacea until I started on the ACALABRUTINIB trial. I can no longer take it as it has not been tested with the new drug and there are many limitations on drugs, and supplements. Vitamin D3 has helped me a lot with no known complications with CLL in fact Mayo and others have been studying it's efficacy. Hope you feel better.

Thank you, will stop the Echinacea. I take D3 and B12 and find my energy and sleep have improved.

Might get you VitD and B12 levels checked by a blood test, every so often... blind supplementation, is unwise

Thank you, that's good advice.

I do have B12 and D3 checked regularly as at one point I was severely deficient. 2 of my docs wanted to keep my B12 up and had ordered injections as needed. Now my hem/on is saying NO! B12 can stimulate cancer cells. ??? Anyone else hearing that? More information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ask your doctor to provide a study paper or creditable reference..., I have monthly injections of B12 and have never seen anything related to CLL cancer cells... do you mean malignant B cells, or all B cells...?

A number of things boost B cell production... Vitamin C in higher doses for example...

Folic Acid in high doses has been associate with a small increased risk of lung cancer, perhaps postate cancer.

For me the benefit of B12 outway the risk exponentially... with two terminal cancers already, I will take my chances...

Thanks, Chris. Malignant B cells I'm certain, but he has promised to discuss further after next month's labs (including b12 level). After my last injection, B12 jumped from under 200 to over 1100. Lab noted possible abboration due to CLL. Never got the explanation I kept asking for, but was reduced to 5000 mcg sublingually, fatigue and muscle wasting continue, even with HGB back to 12.7.

Echinacea products have not here been shown to provide benefits for treating colds, although, it is possible there is a weak benefit from some Echinacea products: the results of individual prophylaxis trials consistently show positive (if non-significant) trends, although potential effects are of questionable clinical relevance.
