Hi can anyone tell me can you get drenching sweats through the day as well as night do these count as B symptom.I sweat at night but not drenching they happen in the day.

Yes they are B symptoms.

I had hot flushes both day and night but not drenching sweats.

All to do with the matabolismn and the cll cells

I recommend you get tested for ebv.

I also have the day and night sweats. Not drenching but sometimes close to it. I do believe it is a B symptom.

B symptoms in uk are severe night sweats sever fatigue and suddenly enlarged lymph nodes all the things to look for when on watch and wait

This is a list of B symptoms, I put together over the years...

tiredness and a feeling of being generally weak or unwell

swelling of lymph nodes, externally

repeated infections, fevers higher than 100.5°F or 38.0°C for 2 or more weeks without other evidence of infection

breathlessness, node enlargement internally

enlarged spleen, left side discomfort

difficulty eating

a tendency to bruise or bleed easily, blood spots under the skin

drenching night sweats

unexplained weight loss, for several months

I have day and night sweats. Night sweats can be drenching but day time ones are horrible too and can be embarrassing when perspiration starts to trickle down your face when you are having a conversation with someone. I am stage C and about to start another new treatment regime.

EBV = Epstein Barr Virus/Human herpesvirus 4 (HHV-4) and it's latently present in about 90% of adults. Corin850 mentioned it because it can cause serious problems in those immune compromised, like us :

EBV and CMV [Cytomegalovirus], Neil's favourite... are kissing cousins of the kissing disease ...Mononucleosis...

EBV, is felt by some to play a role in Richter's transformations, in about 15% of cases, but the exact mechanism is unclear...

Thank you Chris for your early reply. Bit worrying about Richter's but glad the percentage is relatively low. Hope to check it out at my forthcoming bone marrow biopsy.

Thank you Neil for your very prompt and comprehensive reply. I am due to have the lovely bone marrow extraction sometime over the next few weeks so will ask about EBV. Not sure I can do much about it other than trying to avoid infections (impossible😞) and having access to antibiotics.
