If we aren't already familiar with how hospitals work for unplanned stays, a CLL diagnosis certainly increases our chances of finding out!  Rather than learning this when your mind is rather occupied with other more immediate concerns, this article may prove a useful framework through which you can better understand how to navigate your way through a hospital visit to return home safely after a minimal hospital stay.  While Michael Vagg, Clinical Senior Lecturer at Deakin University School of Medicine & Pain Specialist, Barwon Health explains how hospitals work in Australia, I expect most countries have similar systems, with the Triage System used at an emergency visit the most important to understand: theconversation.com/from-tr...

I strongly recommend that you understand which triage category you'll likely fit into and how this may be modified by your CLL.  That way you can communicate the relevant information to the nurse assessing you, so you are treated with the required level of priority. You do not want to be waiting too long if you suspect you have sepsis!
