I just posted my last video interview from ASH 2012 on my blog: bkoffman.blogspot.com

About time, with ASCO around the corner and the work Andrew Schorr and I will be doing there together.

This post is on a serious complication of CLL itself or its treatment: MDS or myelodysplastic syndrome.

It features Dr. David Steensma who is a world leader in understanding and compassion care of MDS and elderly patients with anemia.

I think it is worth the 10 minutes it will take to review.

Stay strong

Brian

Brian, as you say on your blog, "Dr. Steensma clarifies and explains the risk of MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome) in simple terms." He also provides some useful tips on how to reduce (higher) the risk of this if you have CLL, plus some reassuring information. There are also some interesting comments on CAT scans and the benefits of exercise.

This is a good complementary blog to Chris's posting today regarding the paper on Autoimmune Cytopenias:

cllsupport.healthunlocked.c...

given both can be responsible for falling counts in blood cell lines if you have CLL.

Thanks,

Neil
