Hello,
Honokiol is extracted from the bark of a particular variety of Magnolia, and has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. It is not a drug, but a natural botanical extract available as a supplement. There has been extensive research on honokiol in cell cultures and in animal studies. If you google Pub Med and put in "honokiol and CLL", you will see some published studies. And there are hundreds of studies on various anticancer mechanisms not specific to CLL which you can also find listed on Pub Med. To my knowledge there have not yet been human studies. Toxicity research on animals has shown it to have a very high safety profile, as well as it's safe historical use. I think it's important to make sure, if you decide to use it, that you find a brand with high quality, concentration and purity. Dr. Eliaz, whose excellent video you referred to on the subject, has an informative website dreliaz.org and you can find research on honokiol in the research section of the website. I hope this is helpful. All the best, Elani
I have become interested and intrigued by Honokiol and its applications and sudden lack of followups in medical community since 2011...weird...
