Post kasai procedure

My sister son undergone kasai at 8 weeks old and that time bilirubin count was 4.5 .now he is at 10 months old and his bilirubin count is 2.01 .This means kasai procedure success or not.recently his stomach is bulging and facing disturbed sleep and frequent fever.please guide us

Hi Thomas2 , Same situation with my 4month old baby underwent kasai at 81 days. His direct bili came down from 13 to 5.5 after 6weeks. Ultrasound shows completely normal liver. Please suggest..

May I know if Liver Biopsy was done while Kasai procedure?

Total Bilirubin 2 is ok. Keep an eye on sgot/sgpt and direct bilirubin. If direct bilirubin below one then it’s good . In your case kasai was done at right time which is 3 month or earlier . Hope for the best … keep in touch with your doctor . My sons kasai failed he undergone liver transplant … may god bless your child .
