Biliary atresia/ KASAI PROCEDURE post op management in 8 weeks old baby

Hello.my daughter of 8 weeks had biliary atresia diagnosed 10 days ago.she underwent KASAI procedure 8 days ago. Any body can share his/her experience regarding this condition/procedure and post operative life.

Hi my Daughter is 7 weeks post Kasai Procedure. I’m not gonna say it is easy thing to deal with but definitely takes time to get used to and a lot of reading and learning about this disease. Find as much support as you can get. Getting answers from people who have been through this will do wonders. She has had two cases of cholengitis after so we have been in hospital for a very long time. She just got out Saturday and we are hoping to be home longer then one week. Be strong and a lot of praying will get you through this with all the loved ones supporters you can get. Good luck and stay positive. Facebook support groups are wonderful. Xoxox

Hello, my daughter had the kasai operation at 6 weeks old, we have had one hospital stay since the operation and my daughter is doing really well, we are now coming upto the 12 month post op (26th of October), we had abit of concern regarding her weight coz it has been up and down, but we are keeping the weight on now. We are due at a check up this week over at Leeds on Monday for a liver scan and blood etc, routine. And I'm sure everything will be OK. I'm feeling quite positive now at the minute. At first it took me months to get my head around biliary atresia, but with alot of research and talking to other people with children who have the same, it helped lots. So if you have anything you need to ask please ask.

When were the LFTs repeated aftrr the operation??? Liver function tests?

We had to return to Leeds 6 weeks after her operation for the bloods test done and all checks
