statins and bisoprolol: I had my aortic... - Cholesterol Support
statins and bisoprolol
hi there
we all read awful things about statins but they work for most people ----- you should discuss your concerns with your cardiac doctor or your gp --- you must NOT stop any of these mediation yourself WITHOUTmedical advice --- hope this helps
I think most advice would be to ask your cardiologist. I have had a stent fitted and the cardiologist told me that Atorvastatin not only reduces cholesterol but help stabilise the lining of the arteries. I am on 80 mg so your dose is low. Good luck.
Hi Usher,
Did you also read that statins reduce our mortality risk by 19%?
I have found that different Drs. think differently.....
my own GP'S who began all this?they say I should stay on Statins,
I refused when I realised just how much pain and shortness of memory and all of the other side-effects were pointed out to be the "bad side-effects of Statins,
they gave me a week free from statins,it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!my memory returned,my muzzy head went..and,I felt like a new woman....but,had to try 2 other statins with worse side-effects,then I refused forever....my own GP,agreed with me,
and she said those low fat foods?waste of money.FAT free usually means loaded with sugar or other stuff to enhance the taste....
a blood test showed that the NSAID PILLS COX2 inhibitors I was given for the extra pain the statins gave me?
affected my Heart,I now have Aortic Valves trouble, they don't open properly causing shortness of breath and I will need open heart surgery eventually,,,,,all down to Naprosyn.
it's a vicious circle....
The Heart Dr.I saw on Thursday, disagreed with the Statins,....I was so pleased.
I got my point over to an expert and he agreed,so no more Statins for me.
I am damned if I do and damned if I don't.
none of this would have happened if I had never had Statins...
I think some prominebt Drs. should convene and give us an Answer.
At least I have heard from 2 Drs, who specialise in Hearts/?agree with me,no more Statins,
see what you can do about getting your Drs. on your side over this Debate!
