Been to the doctors today and the results form my echocardiogram were along the lines of slightly reduced diastolic flow to or in left ventricle (not sure which she said as it was very technical and to be fair I don't think she did either!) I've tried finding out more on the internet but it was all research papers. Wondered if anyone on here had a similar diagnosis and could explain in English!

You could look up some basic anatomy of the heart, there are lots of good websites.

The left ventricle is the largest and strongest chamber of the heart which pumps oxygenated blood around the body. The diastolic phase is when the ventricles fill up with blood before the next "pump". When you get your blood pressure taken, the diastolic is the bottom number.

Your GP should be able to put this to you in a language you can understand...isn't that part of their job?
