I have been given artovastatin to take anyone had problems with it .Would like to know

Hi Sandy well I do have cardivascular problem but I was asked to have a triple heart by pass 8 years ago I said no , so I was prescribed clopidogrel suffered a bladder bleed followed by bowel bleed and was told this was caused by clopidogrel I decided there and then I was not going to just take what I was prescribed anymore without checking. I am 80 years of age and 3 weeks ago suddenly my left leg just wouldn't go for a minuet or two had tingles in my foot so knew I still had a leg it was really weird so went to doctors and he said I had had minor stroke ? put me through to stroke clinic within 48 hours all checked out brain heart blood blood pressure and consultant said you have had a minor stroke and put me on clopidgral which I said I did not want because of the above and statins ie atorvastin as I do not have much faith in the system anymore I am dubious about it oh and 5 mg of folic acid atorvastin 20mg I feel good but I think the statins are effecting my memory a little becuase I have been taking them for 3 weeks but not the clopo hope this helps sandy

I am so sorry to hear about your health problems. You have gone through medication side effect!

Please take things easy and enjoy life. I do not want to talk about food or exercise at your age. My brother who will be 90 soon still take statin for his heart problem.

May be you could discuss your side effect to statin. Doctor may suggest a lower dosage.

I’ve had no problems with Atorvaststin. But I don’t know your dosage and remember everyone is different.

I have been on 20mg Atorvastatin since 2013 with no problems but people may react differently to the same drug

I took avorstatin for 10 years and was nearly crippled with leg muscle wastage. Im not on any medication for 2 years and feel better than i have in years. (I was on multiple medications due to a heart attack) lots off people here have written about statin side effects. Good luck .

I have to agree with you I am home visiting lawyer and I have come across loads of your cases that is why I am dubious, think may take for a short time and then stop. like i said your not on your own keep batting sparky3333

Works fine for me, it replaced Simvastatin which gave me nightmares.
