You need to take your father to see your doctor!!!

Hi Sandybrown, he has seen so many doctors, we in desperation admitted him on Monday, its cellulitis, from what we can gather

Cellulitis is an infection of the skin. It’s not likely it was caused by the stent. It’s usually related to staph and needs a portal of entry. Now if the stent is poking through the skin, that’s another issue.

How is your father now? Did the doctor give any additional information?

Welcome to the Cholesterol forum. The topic you have introduced is not really within the mainstream of this forum. That said, with the very limited information you have provided, I will conclude that your father is diabetic and possibly overweight? Is possibly on statins due to high cholesterol issues? Was, or is, a smoker, and has been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy?

If so, it is best to encourage him to adopt the Mediterranean Diet which is a 'whole-foods', plant-based diet. Lots of vegetables and legumes, limited animal protein, focus more on fish when choosing animal protein. Limited dairy, focus more on fermented dairy products like Plain Greek yogurt and Scandinavian cheeses like Gouda and Jarlesberg.

When choosing animal and dairy products try and buy organically sourced, grass-fed, pasture-raised, with no antibiotics or hormones.

Most importantly the elimination of sugar, sugar substitutes, artificial sweeteners, refined/simple carbohydrate foods. He must also avoid fried foods.

Salad dressing should be limited to extra-virgin olive oil with lemon juice - avoid bottled salad dressings as they contain sugar. Nuts and berries should also be encouraged.

Daily exercise is also crucial to good health.

The drug-eluting stents may cause skin rashes, but stents cannot be removed once they have been inserted.

Good luck.

P.S. consider seeing a naturopath for other alternative medicine suggestions since you have exhausted all of the mainstream medicine avenues.
