My son was dx at age 35 with high triglycerides...also hypertension. He takes his medication but his diet is terrible in every way. Is high cholesterol the same as high triglycerides? Last night he ordered a pepperoni pizza.

Does it come ground? My sigmoid colon is badly damaged. I had diverticulitis 3x. When my son was in early 20's, his GI Doctor told me he has the colon of a 50 yo man.

Thank you. We are both aware of what he "should" do. His MD at the time did not use positive reinforcement when he altered his diet and the number dropped. He criticized that he was still eating too much fruit.....He did drive himself to ER one night due to chest pain n they did every test. He was good. He works in a bar and does drink when friends buy shots. Never at home. I think his # was 600-800. Someone posted # in the thousands so I wondered if I'm over reacting.

Feel for you. At 35 it must be impossible to get through to him. We all think that we will not be the guy who will suffer from the condition of our bodies and think that it will happen to someone else and we will be fine. I used to think that. After my heart attack i knew better. Hindsight. Hope he will listen to you soon.
