For those interested:

Here's the second part of the report I received on the CIMT test. It points out where my test results landed relative to my peer group.

Thank you for posting the information, it is going to take me awhile to understand the medical side of things.

I really appreciate your input.

Since I read your posts only 2 months ago, my cholesterol levels have gone down to “not worth noting” says my doctor.

I stopped Statins also 2 months ago.

I am speaking to my cardiologist who says my heart is healthy and that if I want we can check the arteries.

Due to your recent post, I find it worth the effort to be in control of my own health for whatever reason and maintaining your proven lifestyle.

Thank you from my whole heart.

Hi,

I read every one's response.

" I am speaking to my cardiologist who says my heart is healthy and that if I want we can check the arteries."

What test did your cardiologist do to say your hear is healthy?

Are you planning to check your arteries, again what tests are involved?

You answers to the above two may help others including me who read all posts and response.

I don't know what test your cardiologist is referring to. The most precise measurement of arterial health is the angiogram which is an invasive test and potentially risky.

Other tests include a CT scan while injecting you with a radioactive dye, and also getting a calcium score which requires radiation.

These are his likely recommendations.

Hi Sandybrown,

3 days ago I had palpitations and was worried about many things because I was on Statins recently for 3 months with horrendous painful side effects.

I joined this group and followed sos007’s thread, was so relieved, went off the Statins immediately and that is 2 months ago. I have successfully been able to lower my cholesterol levels to a healthy score without any prescribed medications as sos007 is doing. Switched to a Mediteranean diet and with daily exercises and all those supplements plus a plant based stenols, Niacin and 3000 Vitamin C daily.

I have changed to a cardiologist rather because I was still not sure.

We’ve run a scan and monitoring of my heart, that I could watch myself, stress tests... etc, hence I was told in the presence of my daughter who is on the medicine field as well, that I have 99.9 % healthy heart.

If I do those stressy risky arterial tests which sos007 describes so well, is another decision to make.

I am still learning to confide in another doctor, because the last one who prescribed Statins for me made a huge mistake.

If I was ignorant I would be in a very bad situation now.

Thanks to sos007 and this blog, I have become master of my own health.

Hi Koekoe, I'm very happy to hear that you've achieved success with your health and I'm grateful that in some small way I was able to help. I have found in my own case that monitoring my blood metrics 3-4 times per year provides me with the positive feedback I need to maintain my dietary and lifestyle regimen. Wearing a Fitbit that measures my daily steps and heart rate also provides me with instant feedback and therefore motivation to 'keep moving'.

Keep up the good work and stay healthy!

You are so right and kind, once again.
