So you've got to be willing to endure statins for possible four months? No way. They had me in tears several times before the medics gave up on them. Surely that trial isn't going to attract those who suffered the worst? I wonder how they can factor that in.

Also, some symptoms take longer to show, so it's going to miss those.

You have made a very valid point, it will be interesting to find out on the take up numbers!

Also age group, are people who have been on statin for over 20 years and gave up willing to join this data gathering trial/test. If statin is given for the rest of ones life, here in this test what will happen to the people who need statin every day by not having statin for 8 months during the trail.

I am looking to collect a lot of questions and be ready to ask, if I am invited to take part, I have already sent an email asking for more information..

All those on statins should recognise that cholesterol is not the cause of vascular diseases and the sooner you stop taking them and adjust your diet the better. Cholesterol levels do rise with age - but only because you are still in an active inflammatory state; higher levels are protective because of other metabolic problems. See utube video by Mathias Rath (Maastricht Symposium 2015) on the role Lp (a) which is a surrogate LDL molecule under genetic control, to protect you by allowing formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Their removal and final repair of the damaged blood vessel wall is dependent on a much higher intake of vitamin C than recommended by the NHS (approx 500mg v 75mg).

I sent an email to the address on the site saying.

The trial is obviously biased.

In the video it mentions symptoms occurring after 1 or 2 weeks.

My experiences are

Atorvastatin 40mg headache after 1 month.

Simvastatin 40mg Could not sleep though tired after 1 month.

Pravastatin 40mg Knee/Neck/Back pain. Feeling hot and extra tired. After 3 Months.

My GP put me on 20 mg and I still got side effects. I read this patientcareonline.com/cardi...

I failed the initial telephone screening, this is because I only tried one statin at 10mg dosage !, this is not my loss, I will keep away from statin as lone as possible.

As an engineer when I did field trails I always talked every interested person to get what ever data that I can use!!!.
