You're welcome.

If you get back to eating what our parents (assuming a certain age) and ancestors ate you will have an enjoyable journey to optimal health.

This is a similar idea, with a slightly different approach. Some people find it easier to change their food slowly, as cutting down on carbs quickly can make you feel a bit rubbish. It's up to you how far you cut out carbs, I still eat root vegetables, but have cut out grain completely.

A really good link, thank you. Now maybe I can get my hubby to change with the ideas on here. He finds my LCHF diet too strict. He had a quadruple bypass nearly three years ago and is doing quite well but needs to lose some weight.

Endorse both of the above, I lost 3 stone over 12 months by various means, but chiefly LCHF. I'm convinced the main bogey man for me was low fat [but high sugar] yogurts. I was addicted to them almost. Now take full fat Greek type but in moderation. We're all different though. Also cut out salt for high blood pressure, and walked briskly on a daily basis [I bought a dog so we both benefit!] for at least half an hour or more. Feel great, BP down to below 120/75 and on low dose of Losartan. Ramipril gave me a horrible cough. Good luck, you sound to have the right attitude!

well done for taking the initiative to lose weight and good luck with the healthier diet. Eat a diet with plenty of magnesium rich foods, it will help your heart to function normally. Beans (even plain old baked beans), green leafy vegetables and nuts are all good sources of magnesium. Fish is also very good for your heart, especially oily fish.
